The Bobber:
I've been wanting to build a bike like this for quite a
while. Every time I watched one of those "chopper
building" shows
over the last few years I thought to myself, "I could do
that." So I decided to do just that. I started with a
Precision
Cycleworks frame and carbon fiber gas tank (traded work
for it). I built the front end myself as well as the
forward controls,
wheels, etc. The seat was made by Gremlin's leather in
Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. The oil tank by John Stewart,
Ontario
Canada. The bike will have a stock Harley-Davidson motor.
The tail lights are reproduction Ford 1930 Model A. I've
been trading services for parts and help along the way so
far. I've also been asking for parts for Christmas and
birthdays.
I'm hoping to have it ready for paint in early spring
2009. So far I've not actually hit any of the goals for
this bike, except the
goal to build it for "a couple hundred bucks" and trade
for everything else. Largest out of pocket investment so
far, $50 for
tail lights.
Big thanks to:
